John Musselman was born October 26, 1828 in Germany. He migrated to this country at the age of 18 and settled first  in Ohio. He was a carpenter.  He later moved to Wayne County Indiana where he married Mary Kauffman who was a native of Pennsylvania the daughter of Valentine Kauffman and wife, both of whom were natives of Germany. John and Mary moved from Owen County to Hamilton County in 1864.

John Musselman died in Clare, Hamilton Co., IN. on March 26, 1894 per the Death Records of Hamilton County 1882-1920 Volume 1 A to Z.

John Musseman married MARY A. KAUFFMAN 12 June 1853 in Richmond, Wayne Co, Indiana, daughter of JOHN KAUFFMAN and MARY WAGNER.  She was born 05 February 1827 in Pennsylvania, and died 04 February 1898 in Noblesville, Hamilton Co., Indiana.
